Ultimate Beach Babe

DSC02068
Last week Andrea and I went down to English Bay for an impromptu shoot. It was actually the fastest one I have yet to do, lasting roughly ten minutes. However, we managed to get some great shots out of it! English Bay is always a gorgeous backdrop and is just one of the many beach hot spots I have come to love in Vancouver. This silk bohemian style dress paired perfectly with gladiator flats and the Vancouver wind.

Gone Too Soon

DSC02036

This past Sunday we lost a member of the Earls family. I wanted to share with you something that I wrote for him

In loving memory of Brian

I often wonder how it is that one life can end so quickly.
So abruptly that no one is prepared for the aftershock of what has just hit them, the quake within their hearts, shattering within them.
Gone too soon they say as they gaze into each other’s eyes.
Their sadness settles as they realize that no one got to say goodbye.
Darkness is now swallowing any light that was left within them.
And they reminisce on the last time they looked into his eyes, smiled after seeing his beaming face, and heard his laughter that bestowed innocence.
Forever gone and forever in our hearts.
I don’t know if I can take another lost soul, another life stopped in its tracks.
A heart can only handle so much before the pieces will no longer go back together
If people come into our lives to show us a part of ourselves we couldn’t see
And if its fate that brings each of us together
Then what is it that decides when we part, or if nothing becomes of us meeting
We are powerless over what the universe decides of us
It is this powerlessness that makes me weak
Unable to know when the next person I love and care about will be taken from me
All i can do is hold you close to my heart and pray we never part.
